Piedmont
PIedmont: The Soul of Slow Food

Hi! We are Holly & Safak. Piedmont feels like a secret we want to share, but also keep for ourselves. We always find ourselves constantly slowing down here. Let us help you skip the rush and guide you through the birthplace of slow food. About us →
For us, Piedmont is one of those rare places in Italy that truly has it all, yet it still feels like a quiet discovery. The landscape here is so diverse—you have the massive Alps in the background, the peaceful northern lakes and then the famous rolling vineyards of the Langhe, which are so beautiful they are protected by UNESCO. It’s a region with a very proud history, too. Turin was actually the first capital of Italy and you can still feel that royal elegance when you walk through its squares or sit in its historic cafés. But then, just a short drive away, you are in the heart of the countryside where the world’s best Barolo wines and the legendary white truffles of Alba come from. Everything here is about quality—the food, the history and the way people live. It is a place that stays in your heart long after you leave.

Discover Piedmont with these local facts…
…In 1986, the Slow Food movement started here in the town of Bra. Piedmont is the place that defined the philosophy of eating locally, sustainably and joyfully.
…Turin was the first capital of Italy. Its wide boulevards, grand squares and cafés offer a “royal” slow travel experience that feels more like Paris, but with a soul that is purely Italian.
…This is the land of the ‘King of Wines’ (Barolo) and the ‘Wine of Kings’ (Barbaresco). The Nebbiolo grape is the soul of this region, producing wines that are as complex and deep.
…The hills of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato are so perfectly shaped by humans and nature that they are protected by UNESCO. They aren’t just farms; they are living works of art.
…The forests around Alba are home to the world-famous White Truffle. It’s a treasure that must be found by hand and paw, connecting between nature and the plate.
…’Piemonte’ means ‘at the foot of the mountains.’ Although the air is crisper, the lifestyle is a perfect mix of Mediterranean warmth & Alpine precision.
