I’ve loved maps since I was a child and eventually earned a degree in Geography, because, why just dream of far-off lands when you can actually understand them?

Later, I found myself pursuing a career in the tech world. Nearly two decades in digital marketing, SEO, and business development I gained the knowledge and tools I needed to start the FOMO Traveller project. Within this, I’ve specialized in local SEO for over 10 years, speaking at conferences and workshops, and providing consultancy services to businesses. My expertise in this area is further validated by my role as a LinkedIn Learning instructor, where I teach a course on local SEO and Google My Business listings.

But it’s not all algorithms and spreadsheets; my heart belongs to the mountains and the Tuscan hills, a glass of wine in hand, surrounded by nature and beautiful landscapes. Slow food isn’t a trend for me, it’s an appreciation of authentic, local food and culinary traditions. And whether I’m preparing food in my kitchen or enjoying a meal with locals, food is always a central part of my travel experiences.

My multicultural background definitely helps me travel like a local – Turkish roots, a German upbringing, and a heart that embraces the world. I consider myself a global citizen, first and foremost, with a deep appreciation for culture and the ability to adapt to new environments easily.

Then came Ela, my daughter and my partner in crime since she was a baby. Together, we’ve redefined our approach to wanderlust. My family is my everything, and our shared passion for exploration motivates us to plan our next adventure.

As the planner and organizer, I create our itineraries, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully curated. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for unique experiences, I spend hours looking for places far away from tourist traps – from the perfect scenic spot to family-run restaurants – I’m keen to discover them all and keep track of them on Google Maps and our travel journeys.

As a lifelong learner and LinkedIn Learning instructor, I believe that knowledge means power. Combining my love for travel, my expertise in SEO and digital marketing, and my passion for slow living, FOMO Traveller is more than just a project – it’s a summary of everything I am.
